These steels rely upon the combination of Chromium, Manganese and Nitrogen … with a small amount of Nickel to ensure the austenitic micro-structure.
These non mags are used to house the extremely sensitive measuring instruments contained near the drill bit. Deutsche Edelstahlwerke proposes a range of non magnetic steel (Magnadur 501 and Magnadur 601) both certified API 7.
